Excerpts from my as yet untitled poem –

My house is on a sloping road

And it’s great fun to be

I see people passing by

But they can’t see me.

A sudden heavy downpour

Surprises the afternoon

Hurly-burly, scram and scurry

It won’t end so soon.

Young lad, riding pillion

Clutching heavy load

School boy walking, young girl riding

In useless plastic coats

The gush becomes a pitter pat

The muddy rivers cease

Occasional clouds do rumble, though

But people ignore these.
